Ron Paul says martial law provisions in place to deal with economic discord
Texas Congressman and presidential candidate Ron Paul says that attempts to rescue an ailing stock market last week, during which the Fed pumped in billions in liquidity, were merely a stop gap measure - and that an economic collapse is all but inevitable.
"They think that they can control it but eventually they can't, as powerful as they are eventually the markets are more powerful," the Congressman told the Alex Jones Show yesterday.
"The dollar can't be kept in check because eventually it will come unwound," he added.
"But I think the most significant figure we've heard in the last few weeks is the measurement between 2000 - 2005, the clear cut admission that real income has gone down, which is a reflection of the dollar."
Paul explained that recent attempts to pump liquidity into the markets are only a temporary fix and that the long-term effects of doing so spell disaster for the economy.
"The dollar is plunging no matter what you read and hear about and no matter how hard they work to keep the bubble going the only way they can do that is creating more money....causing the dollar to go down even faster, the market seems to be reassured - there's a contrivance to try to hold this together....but it won't last, eventually it's going to collapse," said Paul.
The Texas Congressman cited the repeal of the Insurrection Act as opening the door to a declaration of national emergency and martial law which could be instituted for any number of reasons, including civil disobedience in the event of an economic downturn and a run on the banks.
"If in 6 months or a year there is total chaos who knows what they might try to do," said Paul.
The presidential candidate also slammed the abolition of Habeas Corpus as a "very dangerous sign" that plans were being laid for martial law.
"Why would they change them (the laws) if they didn't plan to use them," concluded Paul.
Suspicions were raised last week when a mystery trader risked billions of dollars after buying 245,000 put options on the Dow Jones Eurostoxx 50 index, in effect a speculation that the market would crash by a third before September 21st.

Suspicions were raised last week when a mystery trader risked billions of dollars after buying 245,000 put options on the Dow Jones Eurostoxx 50 index, in effect a speculation that the market would crash by a third before September 21st.
One strange bet.
A mystery trader risks losing around $1 billion dollars after placing 245,000 put options on the Dow Jones Eurostoxx 50 index, leading many analysts to speculate that a stock market crash preceded by a new 9/11 style catastrophe could take place within the next month.
The anonymous trader only stands to make money if the market crashes by a third to a half before September 21st, which is when the put options expire. A put option is a financial contract between two parties, the buyer and the writer (seller) of the option, in which the buyer stands to benefit only if the price of the asset falls.
"The sales are being referred to by market traders as "bin Laden trades" because only an event on the scale of 9-11 could make these short-sell options valuable," reports financial blogger Marc Parent. Dow Jones Financial News first reported on the story.
(Article continues below)
The trader stands to make around $2 billion from their investment should an event trigger a market crash before the third week in September.
Such a cataclysmic jolt could only happen as a result of two factors, China dumping its vast dollar reserves in reaction to the sub-prime mortgage collapse, which it has threatened to do, or a massive terror attack on the same scale or larger than 9/11.
9/11 itself was foreshadowed by unprecedented put options that were placed on United and American Airlines. Though the Securities and Exchange Commission refused to reveal who placed the options, private researchers traced the investments back to the Deutsche Bank owned Banker’s Trust, which was formerly headed by then Executive Director of the CIA, Buzzy Krongard.
Put options on Morgan Stanley and Merrill Lynch, two of the World Trade Center's most prominent occupants, also spiked in the days before 9/11.
News of the suspicious trades is dovetailed by the comments of Former US Treasury secretary Larry Summers yesterday, who told ABC News that the risk of a recession in the U.S. was greater that at any time since 9/11.

When you wish upon a star, dreams can come true, according to George Thacker. Thacker’s dream, the Howard Johnson Hotel, opened its doors to the public on Friday, Aug. 3, with a grand presentation by the hotel owner and New Lake Crossing developer.Read More

Oak Ridge Atomic Kids Triathlon
Addison & Kelsey participated in the Atomic Kids Triathlon on Saturday, July 27, 2007 along with 63 other kids ranging in age from 7 to 14. The race consisted of a 200 meter swim, a 2 mile bike and a 1 mile run. Addison placed 3rd in her age group with a race time of 32 minutes 17 seconds, with Kelsey on her heels placing 4th with a race time of 32 minutes 18 seconds.
Addison decided to share her trophy with her sister because they both helped motivate each other during the race.
Devoted Fans came from near and far to watch the girls cross the finish line despite the soggy weather.
Kelsey took the lead in the swim coming out of the pool about 5 seconds before Addison. Addison then took the lead on the bike leg and keep the lead by 1 second on the run. It was a very close race!
New Music Playlist
My mother and I added a playlist at the top of the page, as you may have noticed. We tried to pick songs that would reflect everyone in the family. If you would like to add more, go to www.projectplaylist.com
The Username is: reaganfam
The Password is: meemaw
Please make your choices carefully.
Rock and Roll,
Tyler
EDIT: I changed the player so it would play the songs in random order.

Do No Pass Go!
The Dilbert Blog just posted this item. Apparently the Chinese are trying to pass a law to prevent reincarnation. Hilarious.
Pappy's Shirt
Here is the shirt Joyce got for Pappy. He saw a guy with one like it at a Waffle House in LaFollette. He wanted to buy the shirt off the guy there in the restaurant, but didn't succeed. Later, while at Joyce's office he mentioned it and Joyce looked it up on the Internet and purchased it. Notice that the shirt has WWII Bombers on it.
My dad flew in a B-24 in WWII and here is a photo of him and list of all his missions and here are photos of his plane with the crew that flew it prior to my dad's crew taking over.
Old Homestead
This is kind of cool. This house stood where my house now stands sometime back in the 1910s. The names are on the back of the photo. Our next-door neighbor, who has lived in the "holler" since she was a baby, loaned me the photo so I could scan it. You probably can't see it, but there are ducks in the front yard.
ANDREA' ANDREA' ANDREA'!
I'm sure I'm not the only one who wants to see some of Andrea's photo work. Can I get an aaaamen?
By the way, here's what's shaking on my editor's blog.

8. I don't like using these. I find it easier to do my own numbering or use - as a bullet.
9. Mostly useless. Why can't we just use these ""?
10. Click this and it will look for errors in your spelling.
11. When you click this, a window will pop up where you can add an image from your computer, or from a website. I chose one of my own

12. Removes formatting. I doubt I'll use this
13. Finally, click this to preview your post before you post it. It's always a good idea to make sure all of your images, links, bold text, etc. work correctly.

Meemaw Update
We are taking Meemaw to Boone on Aug. 31 when we go up to the concert(unless she changes her mind)..but she doesn't think she's going to take the duplex up there because the whole time she would be up there, she would be worrying about the trailer(and we don't want to give her anything else to worry about!!)..Jason said her would bring her back in either a wk ot two ,whenever she wants to come back...(why does the post time on this say 11:50 a.m..its 2:57pm...I'm I in a time warp?)
Nanika atta?
This is fun, I like it. And yea, thanks Jason for setting this up. Even if Joel thinks Jennifer's communication resources should be limited. Joel, some things are out of our control. And who would have thought our first bloggers would be Earl and Tyler? That's what so great, those of us who are not "phone people" are more apt to post comments than pick up a phone.
Ki o tsukete...Judy
Ki o tsukete...Judy
Thanks Jason
Of Course the big question is what constraints do we put on Jennifer Posting on the Blog????
Thanks for setting up the blog Jason. Should be a good way to communicate. We should limit Jennifer's posting, especially any posts about places she eats. Not fair to hear about her telling about The Varsity or Mickey's, or worse, posting photos of those places.
I still believe that if Memaw and/or Pappy had Internet access they would always be online. Here would be Memaw's bookmarks:

shockwave.com/jigsaw(puzzles)

Greetings from The Peach State!!!
Hello all!
I'm just trying to get used to this thing. Chances are I'll post a lot.
Well, Corey and I started school last Thursday, the ninth. It's alright. I've met a few people. Most of them are nerds like me. I happened to talk to one kid whose dad grew up in Kingston. His dad's name is Sid Brown. If you know him, post a comment.
All my teachers seem pretty laid back, but it might be too early to tell. I don't have a lot of homework. The homework I do have I usually get finished in economics.
There's a water park not too far from our house that's pretty cool. If one of you would come visit, we could go. It closes sometime in September, though.
Speaking of September, the Burnetts will be visiting Boone in September. There's a music festival there Labor Day weekend, and a favorite of mine, That 1 Guy, is playing Saturday. He's really cool and really hard to describe. You should all check him out.
www.myspace.com/that1guy
I don't know how long we're staying there, but I would like to check out some of the other acts at the festival. I like hearing new bands.
I could keep typing, but I'll spare you.
Bye-bye,
Tyler
